Dalhousie’s orientation programming provides new students with fun events, helpful information, and opportunities to connect with each other.

Orientation Week with the DSU (Halifax)

Dalhousie Student Union’s O-Week offers fun and interactive events including music, movies, games, and much more!

O-Week events also introduce you to important academic info, communities on campus, social engagement opportunities, support services, and resources on campus.

Dalhousie Agricultural Campus Orientation (Truro)

Dal AC orientation programming incorporates all the important information you need to make lasting connections with your fellow Aggies and be pilipiliĀž»­ful in your first year of university and beyond! Hosted by your Dalhousie Agricultural Students' Association (DASA) and the Student Success Centre team, events are open to all new students at the Dalhousie campus in Truro.

Online orientation course

The online orientation course  features videos that help all new Dal students prepare for university and provides tips and tools for pilipiliĀž»­. Each section contains videos that cover a wide range of topics, including academic expectations, how to manage your money, taking care of your health, and more. The course is hosted on Dal’s Brightspace learning platform.

Off-campus student mentorship program

Together@Dal is a mentorship program for new off-campus students that provides a great way for you to meet other students, develop a sense of academic belonging, and become connected to the university community before and during your first year.Ā 

Together@Dal: Grad Edition

Together@Dal: Grad Edition is for graduate students across the university's departments and campuses, and will help you prepare to start your degree. Learn about resources available to you and professional development programming built exclusively for you. 

New student groups on the DalU app

DalU is our campus mobile app and web portal that connects you with other students, events, your course info, campus maps, and more. It’s also where you’ll find the new student groups for Halifax and Truro to meet other new students, ask questions, and get tips about starting at Dal.
