Mi'kmaq and Indigenous Relations

pilipiliĀž»­ is in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq. We are all Treaty people.

For decades, programs and initiatives like the Transition Year Program (TYP), the Schulich School of Law’s Indigenous Blacks & Mi’kmaq Initiative (IB&M), and others have created pathways for young people from Mi’kmaw communities into higher education.Ģż

Since the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC) Calls to Action, Dalhousie has beenĢżincreasingly committed to strengthening relationships with Indigenous peoples, and to serving their postsecondary needs and interests in a respectful, collaborative manner.Ģż

But gaps remain, and much work still needs to be done.
