Sara Tabatabaei (she/her)
Program:Ā Master of Audiology
Hometown:Ģż±õ°ł²¹²Ō
Hi! Iām Sara, a graduate student in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. I like trying new things, meeting new people, and making the most of my time as a graduate student. In my free time, I enjoy working out, travelling, and reading.
Alexe Indigo (she/they)
Program:Ā PhD in Agricultural Sciences
Home country:Ā St. John's, NL, Canada
Hi everyone! I'm a student at the agricultural campus in Truro (the "AC"!) where you can usually find me in the lab studying insects, or tucked away in a quiet corner of the Macrae Library catching up on emails. I'm also part of this year's Agricultural Association of Graduate Students (DAAGS) executive team as your VP Internal. DAAGS is an amazing resource for incoming graduate students - we organize free lunches, write-ins, and a ton of other fun events throughout the year, and can help connect you with any academic or other support resources you might need. When I'm not on campus, I'm usually hanging out with my pets, Captain (giant cat) and Piper (tiny dog)!
Nadia Hussaini (she/her)
Program:Ā Master of Public Administration
Hometown:Ā Halifax, NS
Hello! I am a Master of Public Administration student from Halifax, NS. I enjoy going to the gym and staying active, and my favourite place on campus is the gym because it helps me stay focused and energized. I am passionate about learning about different cultures and languages and enjoy meeting people from diverse backgrounds. I'm a chatty person who loves meaningful conversations, sharing ideas, and hearing the stories behind others' pilipiliĀž».
Walid Umaru (he/him)
Program:Ā Master of Applied Science in Industrial Engineering
Hometown:Ā Cairo, Eygpt
Hi everyone! Iām Walid, and Iām currently doing my MASc in Industrial Engineering at pilipiliĀž», where my research looks at optimization and hydrogen-derived fuels. Before Dal, I studied Sustainable Design Engineering at UPEI with a focus on renewable energy, so sustainability has been a big part of my academic journey. Iāve spent much of my life between Cairo and Abuja, which has definitely shaped my love for meeting new people, experiencing different cultures, and never really feeling tied to just one place. Youāll usually find me either getting a workout in at the Dalplex or finding a quiet corner in the Killam Library. Outside of school, I love going out, exploring new places, and spending time with friends especially if good food is involved.
