Study Permits and Immigration

To study in Canada, you’ll need two important documents: a Study Permit and a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL).

Before applying for your Study Permit, you must first obtain your PAL. The processing time for a PAL is approximately five business days, and it remains valid for 12 weeks.

When you're ready to apply for your Study Permit, you have two options:

  1. Apply in advance: This option typically takes about five weeks and ensures you have all necessary documentation before arriving in Canada.
  2. Apply upon arrival: You can apply for your Study Permit at the border when you enter Canada. This process generally takes only a few hours.
