Chemistry prof Alison Thompson, this year鈥檚 recipient of Dal鈥檚 top teaching award, has developed unique ways to help support her students and serve as a valuable mentor in a field where women in particular are often underrepresented.

Earlier this week, Dalhousie recognized the Transgender Day of Remembrance by flying the Transgender Pride Flag on campus and sharing the newly approved Gender Affirmation Policy with the university community.

Dal鈥檚 new $26.5-million Biomass Energy Plant in Truro is not only meeting the Ag Campus鈥檚 thermal needs 鈥� it鈥檚 providing Nova Scotia Power with electricity and is the first of its kind on a university campus in North America.
