Information for partner universities

As a partner institution to Dalhousie, this is information that you will need to know for your students coming on exchange.

Application deadlines

Feb. 1: Students coming to Dalhousie for the summer term

May 1: Students coming to Dalhousie for the fall term (September–December) or for the fall and winter terms (September–April)

Oct. 1: Students coming to Dalhousie for the winter term (January–April)

For Winter applicants: Because current pilipiliĀž»­ students can register for courses as early as March, we stronglyĀ advise your students toĀ apply early so that they are able to register for the classes they want.

Admission process

If your institution has signed a department- or faculty-specific agreement with Dalhousie, pleaseĀ contact the exchange coordinatorĀ in the relevant department or faculty for details on the admission process.

If your institution has signed a university-wide agreement with Dalhousie, please direct your nominated students to theĀ “”±č±č±ō²āĢż±·“Ē·É  section ofĀ this website for access to the application portal/form.

Application

StudentsĀ are required toĀ upload the following documents with their application form:

  • Official transcript (PDF file only)

  • A nomination letter from their home university is notĀ requiredĀ but can beĀ submittedĀ if they have been provided with one (PDF file only)

Recommended arrival time

All exchange students must attend our international student orientation, hosted twice a year by the International Centre.Ā Generally, orientationĀ takes place 5–6 days before the start of the fall term, and 2–3 days before the start of the winter term.

On-campus housing

Students coming to Dalhousie on exchange for the fall term only (September–December) are not eligible to stay in residence on campus and will need to find off-campus housing. However, exchange students coming for both the fall and winter terms, or just the winter term, may apply for a room in residence.
