Graduate Program: Biophysics
Biophysics applies the concepts and tools of physics to living systems and how they function. Research in the Department ranges from imaging the working human brain and tracking molecules inside cells, to the mechanics of protein fibres and tissues, the physical properties of dental and biological materials, and the statistical physics of aging.
Depending on the project, the work is experimental, using advanced microscopy, spectroscopy and imaging, or theoretical and computational, including machine learning.
