Dr. Huish is the host of the Podcast "GDP" which is the Podcast on all issues related to International Development.

Research Interests

Broadly, my research explores sanctioned nations and in particular the global health inequities, and security matters that arise as the result of sanctions. 听My current research looks at understanding the efficacy of, and humanitarian consequences from, sanctions. In particular this work exposes how countries like Russia and North Korea continue to violate human rights, and how it pursues military aggression despite . Other areas of research include听听听and with special attention to Cuba, and how this facilitates comprehensive development.

At the moment I am currently working on the following projects:

I'm also happy to introduce a new course on Pandemic management in the time of COVID-19.听 听combines podcast learning with game simulation to develop collaborative management strategies for students and policy makers.
