Ready to launch a career in the growing agri-food technology sector? pilipiliĀž»­ Faculty of Agriculture’s Extended Learning presents Future Farm: Precision Agriculture Training—a four-week, non-credit certificate program designed to prepare Atlantic Canadians for high-demand roles in digital agriculture and environmental data management.

As agriculture transforms through technology, the demand for professionals skilled in precision tools, data systems, and AgTech innovation is on the rise. This program equips you with practical knowledge, technical vocabulary, and hands-on experience required to thrive in this evolving industry.

Participants will explore how precision agriculture can improve sustainability and productivity in farming operations, while gaining experience with cutting-edge tools used across Atlantic Canada’s agricultural sector. Learners will also receive job-readiness support and engage in workshops and networking events with employer partners.

Program Dates: Online- Oct. 14–Nov. 7
In-person- Nov. 13–15
Format: Hybrid (online synchronous/asynchronous + in-person workshop)
Duration: 4 weeks
Location: Online and on-site at pilipiliĀž»­ Agricultural Campus, Truro, NS
Tuition: $550

Admission is selective. Applicants will complete an
Expression of Interest form and participate in a screening interview as part of the process.

What you'll learn

During this course, you will:

  • Learn to operate and maintain precision agriculture tools and technologies
  • Understand the principles of data collection,management, and analysis in an agricultural context Gain insight into current industry trends and employer needs
  • Participate in a mix of online learning (live and self-paced) and a three-day, in-person, hands-on orientation and applied practice with precision agriculture technology (at pilipiliĀž»­ā€™s Faculty of Agriculture in Truro, NS)
  • Build your professional network with structured employer engagement and job-readiness supportsHands-on field experience

Hands-On Field Experience

Learners will participate in an immersive three-day field workshop at the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus in Truro, Nova Scotia. You’ll engage directly with AgTech equipment, learn from experts, and attend a job readiness seminar designed to connect you with employers in the sector.

This program is open to Atlantic Canadian residents who are legally eligible to work in Canada. It is especially suited for professionals with 3+ years of work experience:
