Designing AI-Resilient Assessments

Tuesday, December 8
11 a.m.–12 p.m.
Online via Microsoft Teams

This workshop explores how generative artificial intelligence is reshaping assessment design. We'll draw on broad strategies for responding to genAI's impact on teaching and assessment such as relational and transparent pedagogies, an emphasis on process over product, and attention to contextual specificity. Throughout the session, we'll also learn from your experiences navigating these challenges.

We can't AI-proof an assessment, but we can make it more resilient to misuse. To that end, we'll look at strategies for designing assessments that align with learning outcomes, feel authentic and relevant to students, and are resistant to its misuse.

Come prepared to think through a specific learning outcome you'd like to assess or an assignment you're interested in revising, so you can apply these strategies directly to your own teaching context.
