When Rowe School of Business students started their annual camp-out in support of Phoenix Youth Programs in 2013, they had modest goals. Five years later, the campaign has raised over $65,000 in support of youth experiencing homelessness in Halifax.

Playwright Gillian Clark (BA (Theatre)鈥�13) has created "Drums and Organs," a new theatrical creature inspired by Mary Shelley鈥檚 "Frankenstein鈥� 鈥� a book that, like Dalhousie, turns 200 years old this year. Debuting as the final theatrical production of the Fountain School鈥檚 season, it鈥檚 the latest chapter in Clark鈥檚 emerging artistic journey, one marked by struggle, teamwork and inspiration.

Tamika Butler of the Los Angeles Neighbourhood Trust shared her views on how to create safer, more inclusive streets last week in Halifax as part of the Shift: Streets conference organized by Dal Planning students.

Master of Laws student Nenyo Kwasitsu of Ghana found a home away from home when she joined Sister2Sister, a Dal-run safe space for racialized and Indigenous female-identified students. She also discovered a chance to give back to the next generation.

Dalhousians of all kinds 鈥� students, faculty and staff 鈥� pitched in during Dal 200's Days of Action initiative in February, contributing nearly 5,200 hours of civic engagement.
