Creative Activities
Jo Christensen is an actress, director and vocal coach who trained at the Unitec School of Performing Arts in New Zealand. She is a certified teacher of the Michael Chekhov Technique (GLMCC/MICHA), and an advocate for its uses in the creation and direction of contemporary theatre. After running her own theatre company, she was awarded an Australian Research Council Scholarship, to study the efficacy of the Michael Chekhov Technique in actor training and directing. Recent directing credits include Elizabeth Kuti鈥檚 Fishskin Trousers and David Studdard鈥檚 adaptation of Lysistrata. Jo has trained聽 in the Linklater voice technique,聽 with the late Kristin Linklater at her Voice Centre in Orkney, with Shakespeare and Co in Lennox MA, and with Mary Erwin at ALRA in London. She is currently gaining teacher certification in the Vocal Combat Technique.
