KeeRyung Kwun, an aquaculture student at the Faculty of Agriculture, was always curious how shellfish farms were operated and pilipiliĀž» provided a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to find out.

Aquaculture instructor Scott Jeffery suggested an internship at ShanDaph Oyster Farm in Big Island, Merigomish and KeeRyung was absolutely thrilled.

ā€œMy internship course instructor, Joy Galloway-Jones connected me with RBC for course funding so I could get paid during my internship. I have learned so much and will forever feel grateful that I was able to spend such an eventful summer with every day full of interesting shenanigans and new experiences.ā€

Her advice: ā€œIf there is anyone debating whether to do an internship through Dal, I highly recommend you do it! You will get something out of it at the end!ā€

"We are very fortunate to have the financial and volunteer support of our local RBC partners, particularly in this year of turns and challenges," explained Joy Galloway-Jones, Internship Coordinator.Ā  "Some of these opportunities would not be able to happen without their generous donation.ā€ Ā
