The annual spring shearing of the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus sheep flock occurred this week with 87 sheep being shorn.
The shorn wool is sold to a local producer who cleans and processes the wool into wool products such as comforters and sweaters.
Students from the fourth year “Science of Modern Sheep Farming” observed the shearing and assisted with packing the fleeces.
Shearers were Val and Amber Pederson from PEI. Val is an alumnus. Holly Hines is the lab instructor for the Science of Modern Sheep Farming course.
